Now Supplying Heald’s Matador Surface Mount Sliding Bollards Systems!

Macs are delighted to announce that we now offer the supply of Heald’s Matador surface mount sliding bollards system. Further complementing our range of automatic telescopic and crash rated bollards, the surface mount Matador bollard systems offer a combination of IWA-14 tested physical security, automatic bollard operation and simple surface mount installation.

With our constant drive for customer satisfaction, introducing the Matador 3 means we can now offer the most resistant bollard of its type on the market, due to the internal reinforcement many other bollards don’t have.

The Matador bollard consist of a plate mounted with both fixed security bollards and automatic sliding bollards. The design of the bollard system not only offers enhanced security, but also a lower profile base plate and a reduction in visible moving parts, making the Matador system perfect for use in areas where constant pedestrian access is required.

Hydraulic Matador (HT2 Range). Available with 3 or 4 bollards

Based on the award-winning HT1-Matador, it is the only surface mounted sliding bollard system available to be IWA-14 tested to halt a 7.2 tonne truck travelling at 64 kph (40 mph).  As well as stopping the test vehicle with a zero penetration rating, the Matador system continued to function following the impact with, no repairs required. The Matador was also awarded the Perimeter Protection Award at the Counter Terror Awards 2018.

The surface mount installation of the Matador system is not only extremely fast and efficient, but also allows for installations in areas where bollards would not otherwise be possible; for example, where underground ducting runs close to the road surface. The Matador can be installed with a minimum amount of disruption to the road surface, making them an ideal solution for both temporary and permanent installations.

It can also be installed flush with the surface, requiring an excavation of just 110 mm. The design allows for constant pedestrian access, even when closed. Its stylish stainless-steel finish make it perfect for locations where integration with modern architecture is essential. The Matador features a completely flat surface, meaning no trip or trap hazards, which makes it extremely safe. All moving parts are visible at all times, minimising the chance of accidental damage.

EM Matador (HT2 and HT3 Range)

HT3-EM Matador is a four bollard unit. HT2-EM Matador can be supplied as a three bollard unit

The latest additional to our product range, the Electro Mechanical EM Matador from Heald is an award-winning, sliding bollard system which is operated electro mechanically and has many additional benefits. The HT3-EM Matador has been IWA crash tested to halt an 18 tonne N3C vehicle travelling at 64 kph (40 mph). After impact, the HT3-EM Matador continued to function, offering on-going protection and ensuring emergency services have continued access.

Available with either three or four bollards, the EM Matador has many additional benefits including using 80% less electricity to operate, plus a smaller cabinet to house controls, meaning the EM Matador reduces the carbon and space footprint.

The HT3-EM Matador four bollard system is supplied in two sections joined in the middle, which allows for easy handling procedures, more cost-effective shipping, and any road camber adjustments. With the EM system, there is no need for hydraulic runs or large power units, as the bollards run off a single phase 13 AMP supply. The EM Matador can also operate from a generator where no power supply is available, or for use on temporary events management.

Contained within the unit base, the bollard drive system is IP69 rated and is only 0.37 KWT. The new model can be either surface mounted, or installed flush with a shallow foundation depth, meaning the installation process is very quick, causing minimal disruption.

Along with the Matador automatic sliding bollard systems, we can also offer the Fixed Matador, which features three or more static bollards and offers surface mounted, static PAS 68 security.
